POLICY LEAD
Michaella is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Sierra Leone. She works as the Policy Lead at the Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI).
Michaella works with the Policy team at DSTI to give legal advice on policy and law surrounding DSTI projects, to create policies and develop legislations that are imperative for the successful implementation of DSTI Projects in Sierra Leone. She is a graduate in Law (LLB) with honors from Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone, a graduate from the Sierra Leone Law School and a member of the Sierra Leone Bar Association with license to practice Law in Sierra Leone.
She has been in active legal practice for seven years with experience in both Civil and Criminal practice including but not limited to Corporate Law, Banking Law, Contract Law, Land Law, Torts etc. In all these areas she is well-versed in negotiating settlements, contracts including Leases Conveyances etc, opinion writing, consultancy and legal research on laws and policies, conflict resolution, trespass to land and debt recovery actions, criminal and civil litigations with self-motivation to see every case/matter to its practical end or conclusion.
She has worked with two of the most reputable Law Firms in Sierra Leone since she graduated from the Sierra Leone Law School, i.e. Renner-Thomas & Co Solicitors and Lambert & Partners Solicitors.
Michaella is also an active member of LAWYERS, a nonprofit organization of female lawyers established for defending women and children’s rights, focusing mostly on domestic violence and she had served as the organization’s Assistant Treasurer. She currently serves as the Assistant General Secretary of the Sierra Leone Bar Association for the year 2018-2019.
