Duty station: Freetown with possible travels to other districts in Sierra Leone

Role Description:

  • Produce a tech ecosystem research strategy based on the approved Mapping proposal
  • Develop a research questionnaire.
  • Lead the implementation of a comprehensive study to understand and determine the digital and tech ecosystem in Sierra Leone.
  • Monitor the progress of research activities; develop and maintain records of research activities.
  • Pilot tools to be used in the mapping exercise and provide feedback for iteration and scale-up
  • Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies.
  • Develop a comprehensive report that covers and presents the digital and tech ecosystems in Sierra Leone to be launched as one of the two deliverables of the exercise.
  • Manage study paperwork, electronic correspondence, and data materials
  • Ensure that study data are collected and kept according to DSTI protocols and principles
  • Provide biweekly, monthly and quarterly reports to supervisors
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities, act as the primary administrative point of contact for internal research staff
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of any study staff specifically engaged in the carrying out of research protocol as appropriate to the position
  • Analyze the data and work with the data and visualization team to produce a detailed final report
