Department:  Human Capital Development Incubator (HCDI)

 

JOB SUMMARY:

You champion, lead and coordinate the health activities within the Human Capital Development
Incubator.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead the design, launch and implementation of the Incubator’s health innovation work
  2. Should be able to engage and coordinate various relevant implementing partners.
  3. Provide technical assistance and advise to implementation of health activities.
  4.  Support the design and implementation of health programs in the Incubator.
  5. Support with fundraising for health-related opportunities.
  6. Support the development of planning and reporting systems within the health portfolio.
  7. Work closely with communications officer to amplify the health work of the Incubator.
  8. Lead and coordinate the submission of donor reports.
  9. Other tasks as assigned by the Incubator team lead to ensure the successful delivery of education portfolio.
  10. Have a background and comprehensive knowledge of public health interventions
    (knowledge of maternal mortality issues a plus).
  11. Work closely and collaborate with the iGIS and developers team at DSTI in sourcing
    data, building relevant tech solutions in rolling out health interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT:

ESSENTIAL

Education
  • Degree in sciences with 1 year post qualification experience or diploma in allied sciences but
    with minimum 3 years in senior management role.
  • Strong command of the English language
Experience
  • Extensive experience with writing, especially for business purposes.
  • Extensive experience with writing especially for business purposes.
  • Project management minimum 1 year experience.
Skills
  • Highly articulate with excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture and patience for the little things.
  • Proficiency in creating and using excel spreadsheets, preferably including pivot tables.
  • Ability to learn about and work with data, analyze and distill stories from that data.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to distill and summarize information clearly and engagingly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written, face to face and via telephone.
  • Lead continuous improvement of tender submissions, using sponsor and internal feedback.
  • Excellent research skills, preferably with Government Policy and being able to obtain and update varied demographic information.
  • Effective time-management and organizational skills, be able to produce high quality work under pressure or with tight deadlines.
  • Proactive.
